The Boundless Love of God

"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be
called children of God! And that is what we are!"
1 John 3:1

As we journey through life, one of the most essential foundational truths we must hold onto is the depth of God’s love for us. In a world where love can seem fickle and conditional, God’s love is steadfast, unwavering, and constant; it is unfathomable, and unlike any earthly love we will ever encounter.

God desires a close relationship with you. Have you found yourself lost in the sea of busyness recently? Sometimes we forget just how much God cares for us. In today's post, this is a sweet reminder that His love for you runs deeper than deep, and when you hold onto this powerful truth it changes everything.

Before we dive into our blog post, I would like to start our time praying Ephesians 3:14-20 over you.

Father, I pray that You would strengthen us with the power of the Holy Spirit. May Christ make His home in our hearts so that we may become rooted and grounded in Your love. I ask that You transform our hearts and renew our minds so that we may become more like Jesus and more like You. Please reveal to us the width, length, height, and depth of Jesus' love, a love that surpasses all knowledge, so that we may be filled with all the fullness of You. Allow us to experience Your love, to encounter it, and to be transformed by it. Fill us with the Spirit so that we can supernaturally love those around us and point them to You. Father, thank You that You can do immeasurably more than all we ask or think according to the power at work within us. To You be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

When we begin to comprehend the magnitude of God's love, a love beyond human understanding, we can truly experience the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19). This awareness gives us complete assurance that we are genuinely loved by the King of kings, and that is enough.

Ok, let's start with some biblical truths:

  • The Creator of the universe delights in you. (Zeph. 3:17)

  • The King of kings calls you His daughter. You are a child of God. (John 1:12)

  • He calls you His beloved.

Take a moment to reflect on these truths and let them sink deep into your heart.

Sweet friend, He loves you!

  • God's love for you is unconditional, unwavering, and all-encompassing. (1 John 4:19)

  • God's love for you never changes, and it endures forever. (Psalm 136:26)

  • His love knows no boundaries. (1 Corinthians 13:7)

God's love is a love that never fails, never gives up, and never runs out.

Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.

Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judgments are

like the great deep; man and beast you save, O Lord, How precious is your

steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 36:5-7

He freely loves you simply because you are His beloved child.
  • God's love is not based on your performance or worthiness.

  • He loves you not because you deserve it, but because He is love.

  • His love is constant, even in the midst of our failures and shortcomings.

God's love for you is pure and runs deep.

He knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb, He loves you. (Jeremiah 1:5). Each sunrise is a reminder that God's mercies are new every morning, and that His loving-kindness is everlasting (Lamentations 3:22-26). The greatest expression of His love is through His Son, Jesus Christ, whose life and sacrifice on the cross display God’s love for you.

You are loved beyond measure!

Knowing the Depth of God's Love

  • God's love gives us a firm foundation for our identity. We are no longer defined by our mistakes or the opinions of others, but by His love.

  • You are secure, nothing can separate you from God’s love. (Romans 8:35, 37-39) This truth brings a sense of security and confidence that cannot be shaken by the circumstances of life. Romans 8:35, 37-39Romans 8:35, 37-39Romans 8:35, 37-39

  • We can walk in the knowledge and truth that we are deeply loved, fully known, and fully accepted, regardless of our past or present circumstances.

Understanding the Depth of God's Love

  • God's love enables us to love others more fully and authentically. When we have experienced the depth of God's love for ourselves, it overflows into our relationships with others.

  • We are able to extend grace, forgiveness, and compassion, because we have received these things from God.

  • Our love becomes a reflection of His love.

Trusting the Depth of God's Love

  • God's love helps us to navigate the challenges and trials of life with hope and perseverance.

  • We can trust that He is with us every step of the way.

  • We are never alone.

Transformed by the Depth of God's Love

  • God's love brings healing and restoration to our brokenness. It is through His love that we find healing for our wounds and restoration for our souls.

  • We can experience true freedom and wholeness as we allow His love to heal and transform us.

  • His love has the power to mend what is broken and bring beauty out of ashes.

Practical Ways to Keep Our Heart in Tune with His Love

Living as a disciple of Jesus involves daily discipline and practices, the following are a few ways to help in that.

  1. Engage With Scripture-Abide in His Word: Dive into the Bible and let His truths remind you of His unwavering love. Make reading and reflecting on scripture a regular part of your routine. The more you know the Word, the more you will know God's character, reflect Jesus more, and hear the Holy Spirit more clearly in your life. Check out our scripture writing plans here. By writing scripture out, this is one way we can hide God's Word in your heart.

  2. Prayer as a Heartbeat: Prayer is not just a spiritual discipline but an ongoing conversation with our loving Father. In every moment, with thanksgiving and praise, present your concerns, fears, and joys to God (Philippians 4:6). Prayer realigns our hearts to the frequency of God's love.

  3. Worship in Spirit and Truth: Through worship, whether it is singing, sitting in silence, or engaging in creative arts, express your adoration for God. Let worship be the outpouring of gratitude for His love and goodness in your life.

  4. Surrender: Surrender your plans, desires, and struggles to God. Trust in His sovereignty and allow Him to lead and guide your life. Surrendering to God's will opens the door for His love and power to work in and through you.

  5. Silence and Solitude: Take time to be still and listen to God's voice. Create space in your life for silence and solitude, away from the noise and distractions of the world. In these moments, you can hear God's whispers and experience His presence in a deeper way.

  6. Serving with Love: God's love compels us to love others. Seek ways to be kind. As you put His love in action, you become a beacon of hope to the those around you.

  7. Biblical Community: Be in community with other believers, where stories are shared, support is given, and God's love is experienced.

In Closing I encourage you to grab your journal and spend some quiet time with the Holy Spirit reflecting on God’s abundant love He has for you through the following questions. Journaling has been a cherished discipline and practice in my life for many years. I enjoy spending this time with the Holy Spirit and looking back to see how God has been working in my life and looking back to see His faithfulness, the prayers He has answered, and the things He has impressed upon my heart.

Let's consider how God's love has been evident in our lives with the following questions.

Reflective Questions to Ponder

  1. How has God's love touched your life recently?

  2. How does your identity in Christ impact your daily choices and interactions?

  3. What practical measures can you take to live more fully in God’s love?

As you reflect and journal your thoughts, I hope you find yourself surrounded by God's grace and love. Allow the truth that you are His beloved to resonate in every fiber of your being.

You are His beloved daughter and He is in love with you.

Father,
Thank you for today. I ask that you be with each person reading this and as they go about their day, I pray that they are reminded that they are not adrift; but are held, valued, and cherished. Father, I pray that we will experience each new day with a confidence that comes from you that our identity is secure in Your love, not in this world. Let the joy we have come from You, a deep abiding joy that strengthens us.

Lord, let your light shine through us as we rest in Your love. May we be a living, breathing, walking testimony of the transforming power of Your love--a beacon of hope to those around us. May our lives become an echo of Your heartbeat as we live freely as Your beloved daughter.

Thank you for loving us so deeply and so lavishly. You are faithful in all Your ways. Continue to lead and guide us, fill us with Your Holy Spirit, so that we may continue to cause a ripple effect of Your love and changing hearts one heart at a time. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued my faithfulness to you.” – Jeremiah 31:3

As we pursue holiness, may we continue to be transformed by His beauty and grace.

In His love,

Jennifer
