"Beauty From Ashes," Canvas Wrap
This beautiful painting was created out of our Father’s love by Jennifer Smith and her daughter, Gretchen, as a beautiful reminder of the work that God is doing in your life.
Kintsugi is a Japanese form of art where broken pottery is pieced back together. There is no attempt to hide the damaged cracks; instead, the repairs (flaws) are illuminated with precious gold, allowing the light to shine through the cracks and each crack is stronger than before. The item becomes more beautiful, more valuable, and more precious in its restored condition than before.
Like the art of Kintsugi, we all go through trials and challenges that can break us, but those are the very things that can make us stronger. It is a powerful metaphor for how God uses our brokenness to bring about greater beauty and purpose in our lives. Kintsugi reminds us that we are not defined by our mistakes or by our pain, but by God. When we allow Him to piece us back together, we become more valuable than we were before. Our cracked and mended lives can be a light for Him to shine through, revealing His goodness and love to a broken world that so desperately needs it.
May it bring a renewed hope into your life knowing each beautiful gold mended crack illuminates His light and speaks of who He is, what He's done, and what He's continuing to do in your life. You are loved beyond measure, sweet friend!
