A Beautiful Illustration of Faith

Updated: Nov 9, 2020

"Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you." Psalm 63:3

This past spring, God laid a portion of scripture on my heart. I knew the verses were important, but I wasn't quite sure why. Have you ever had that happen? You're reading Scripture, or God nudges you, but you don't quite understand it yet? Have you ever felt that God hadn't filled in all the pieces of the "puzzle"? This was one of those moments for me. Today, I want to share a little bit about the passage that caught my heart and became the foundation of Alabaster Heart, Luke 7:36-50. As I continued to read the verses more and seek God in the matter, the more I fell in love with the beauty within it. These verses breathed new life in me and became the fuel for the desire God had instilled in me. I soon realized that He was using this passage to implant deeper roots in my heart and mind to share His message of hope.

These verses in Luke embodies the message God has placed on my heart for me, for you. It is a beautiful illustration of a courageous woman full of faith, pushed beyond any fears she may have had, desperately wanting to be with Jesus, having no care in the world of what those around her thought. Once this woman heard where Jesus was, there was nothing that was going to keep her from getting to him. She entered the Pharisees home, giving Jesus her everything and worshiping Him. It is a story of brokenness, faith, deliverance, restoration, forgiveness, love, healing, and so much more. Can you relate to her story? I know I do.

"And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because

anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists

and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

Hebrews 11:6

Over the next several weeks, my hope is that as I share my thoughts on these verses, you will be able to see God through this woman's story in a way that you haven't before, just as I did. I believe these verses bring hope to mankind, teaches us the heart of worship, and shows us that there is beauty in our brokenness with Christ at its center.

God moves in incredible ways, and it has been a blessing to see Him move within this ministry, encouraging women in ALL seasons. I have been tremendously blessed with friends and family who have supported and encouraged me along the way...through thick and thin.

"A friend loves at all times..."

Proverbs 17:17a

My hope is the Lord will use me to help inspire you, support and encourage you in the Truth as we continue to grow deeper in our relationship with Jesus, together in this journey called life. I am thankful He has crossed our paths, and I am happy to call you a friend!

"Therefore encourage one another and build each

other up, just as in fact you are doing."

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Join me on social media this month as I encourage a heart of thankfulness through Scripture leading up to Thanksgiving amid all the chaos we are living in right now. Take heart, my friend, and be encouraged that God is in control. We can rest in His peace, knowing that He has overcome the world!

"I have told you these things so that in me you may

have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart!

I have overcome the world." John 16:33

"Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord."

Psalm 31:24
